This book has been written particularly for governments in Africa to reflect on and take action and the international community in general, especially international NGO’s like the Red Cross, Blue Cross, Peace Corps and finally to the United Nation for serious consideration. It is also intended for churches, companies, public or private as well as the Media fraternity and individuals who are equally concerned about the issues of disasters and disaster management efforts around the world. It is further believed that, this book will either add to knowledge or stimulate further concerns about the control and management of disasters generally, and the Relief Response Efforts available to Nations of the world.Finally, this research work is for tertiary institutions and schools to have knowledge on disasters and disaster management meth¬ods. At least, they can use this knowledge to guide and guard their lives as the future leaders of this nation because their lives are precious. It is in this light therefore, that the writer welcomes positive criticisms and recommendations from all for the good of the nations of Africa.
