The Pelican Natural Science and Technology Teacher’s Guide Intermediate Phase, comprises three textbook from Grades 4 to 6. All the three books have been developed with the aim to assist teachers in selecting teaching – learning strategies, planning strategies to take up any activities in the classroom, conduct assessment to monitor the learner’s understanding assess the achievement of the learning outcomes. Teacher need to use these books in conjunction with the Pelican Natural Science and Technology Learner’s Book. SALIENT FEATURES OF THE BOOK The Natural Sciences and Technology Teacher’s Guide has the following features: • Lesson plan: The lesson plan includes a list of skills, the learners will acquire as the chapter proceeds, an overview of the concepts covered in the chapter, suggested teaching aids, teacher’s tips, textbook activities and extra activities. • Chapter Solutions: This section provides the solutions to the ‘informal’ assessment and the questions given at the end of each chapter of the Learner’s Book. • Real Life Questions: This section comprises of certain questions that help in making a connection of the concepts with the real world. • Worksheet: The worksheets are given to encourage the learners towards learning and to satisfy their cognitive levels. • Glossary: It provides meaning of some of the difficult words used in the chapter. • Digital Support: The Teacher’s Guide is supported by digital content in the form of a DVD. The DVD contains E-book, test generator, lesson plans and answer keys.
